Walking through Saint James's Park in London, I was completely enchanted by the towering hollyhocks swaying in the English breeze. These magnificent flowers, standing tall like natural skyscrapers, demanded to be painted with all their wild, cottage garden charm.
I love how hollyhocks grow creating these gorgeous columns of color. The mix of deep reds, soft pinks, and cheerful yellows against that dreamy rose sky captures the joy and serinity I felt wandering through one of London's most beautiful green spaces.
It was my first time painting Hollyhocks and won’t be the last as they are the perfect subject for my loose and bold style and none the less more special since they feel like they belong in every cottage garden and royal park alike.
Size: 10×10" on a 1.5" profile birch wood panel.
Finished with 1 to 3 coats of satin Varnish.
Signed on front or back and stamped in back.
Easy to hang with just a screw, nail or 3M Damage Free Hanging Strips.
